HOW TO: Badass Operator!

An amusing article from Bloomberg Business Week on how to look like you're in a special forces unit is translated for your entertainment by SPARTANAT. Tips include wearing a big watch, cutting off sleeves, growing out your hair, always wearing sunglasses, staying quiet, and never saying no.

The Bloomberg Businees Week recently published an amusing article (based on statements from an SF) on how to look like you're in a special forces unit. We at SPARTANAT don't want to deprive you of the fun, so we have translated it for you (a bit more freely). Our first cultural HOW TO:

1. Go online and buy the biggest watch you can find! Seriously, are such watches a selection criterion for SF training, or are they given as graduation gifts in a ceremony?

2. Cut the sleeves off your top! It's warm in the Middle East, so get rid of them. And even if there isn't a compelling reason, what are a few scratches, scrapes, or burns when you have more style for it?

3. Don't cut the hair on your head until ordered to do so by your superior! And yes, the beard is part of the head hair!

4. Sunglasses are mandatory! Always! Whether indoors, in a vehicle, or in poor lighting conditions. Maybe you could take them off... but you don't.

5. Don't talk nonsense! The toughest guys are also the quietest. The one who constantly talks about how tough he is probably isn't the toughest one in the room. It's a bit like in sports. The ones always wearing team colors aren't the best players.

6. Never say "No". The first reaction should be: "Yes, I can do it!" If you are told tomorrow to fly to the moon, say "Yes"! And then maybe add: "I need special training for that. And someone who knows how to fly a rocket!"
