Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz takes over the patronage of the upcoming ENFORCE TAC, which will take place from February 23 to 25, 2026, at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. The assumption of the patronage by Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is a strong signal. It underscores the outstanding importance of Enforce Tac as a future laboratory for Europe's security and a central innovation driver of the European security and defense industry.
“We want to be able to defend ourselves so that we do not have to defend ourselves. Defense is a societal task and the foundation for the resilience and future viability of our country. Enforce Tac represents this holistic security approach. I am therefore pleased to take over the patronage,” said the Chancellor.
The ENFORCE TAC 2026 takes place against the backdrop of profound changes in the international security order. New conventional risks require capable armed and operational forces. In light of the hybrid threat landscape, resilience is a joint task of the state, economy, and society. The Chancellor's patronage particularly addresses this overarching security policy responsibility.
A special thank you goes to the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder and the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior, for Sports and Integration, Joachim Herrmann, both of whom have significantly contributed to the strategic development of Enforce Tac.
“The personal support of the Bavarian Prime Minister has significantly shaped the success of Enforce Tac today. I would also like to extend my special thanks to State Minister Joachim Herrmann, who has stood by Enforce Tac as patron for over a decade and has sustainably influenced the fair with strategic impulses,” said Peter Ottmann, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse.
Enforce Tac promotes trustworthy cooperation between the state, economy, and society and sets impulses for collaborative security in a connected Europe. In times of geopolitical tensions, complex threat situations, and increasing demands on the resilience of our society, the alliance between politics, operational forces, and industry plays a decisive role.
The ENFORCE TAC 2026 will bring together over 1,000 exhibitors from across Europe and allied NATO countries with leading figures from politics, armed forces, authorities, and industry in high-level dialogue from February 23 to 25 in Nuremberg. Under the guiding theme “Connected Security,” the event intertwines internal, external, and cybersecurity and expands to eight halls covering around 65,000 m² – including the Enforce Tac Village in the Frankenhalle.
Access is reserved exclusively for members of the armed forces as well as authorities and organizations with police or military security tasks and representatives of the security and defense industry. This clear orientation ensures a protected, focused atmosphere for trustworthy collaboration and sustainable security.
