Hackathon EDTH Berlin

From July 9 to 12, the 20th hackathon of the EDTH European Defense Tech Hub took place at Marienpark in southwest Berlin, and BTB-CONCEPT was there. The participants came from around the world. The language of the event was English. By Sunday alone, there were still eleven challenges waiting to be solved. There were 28 teams, 20 of which participated in the final pitch and presented their solutions. Participants covered their own travel and lodging expenses. They were driven by a desire to support civil-military cooperation, help Ukraine, acquire new knowledge, establish international contacts, and perhaps even find an investor to bring their solution into mass production. The solutions weren’t limited to drones but included a wide variety of approaches to very different sub-problems: ground drones for neutralizing mines, locating family members in the event of a disaster, fact-checking AI responses, offline interpreters in crisis situations, AI diagnostics and treatment instructions for the wounded in war zones, locating and reactivating their own drones, and other projects. For many of these solutions, it was crucial that they function even without an internet connection. Ukrainian participants contributed practical needs and expertise.
