The German Bundeswehr has awarded a contract for 1,000 NBC protective suits of the type "Zodiak-12" to the Austrian J. Blaschke Wehrtechnik GmbH as part of a tender process. The contract is designed as a multi-year procurement project and runs until 2030. The delivery of the protective suits will occur gradually during this period.

The two-part protective suit is designed for use in contaminated environments and protects personnel from nuclear, biological, and chemical hazards. The jacket and pants are gas-tight and connected with each other. The suit is compatible with the NBC protective mask used by the Bundeswehr and allows the wearer to remove the protective suit without having to take off the mask.

Made from rubber-coated fabric, the system offers protection for over 24 hours against chemical warfare agents such as mustard gas, lewisite, or VX and is designed for military CBRN scenarios.
