The US Department of War has announced that it has signed a contract worth US$876.5 million with BOEING to begin production of CH-47F Chinook Block II heavy-lift helicopters for Germany. The contract provides for the manufacture of up to 60 helicopters in a configuration selected by the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as associated training and logistical support.
