A Ukrainian drone engineer, “Energetyk,” reflects on the advancements in drone technology with the HX-2, a German loitering munition from Helsing. This AI-equipped drone targets enemy assets efficiently. Specifications include a 2.5 kg warhead, 12 kg total weight, 220 km/h max speed, and a 100 km range, with 6,000 units promised by 2025.
“If someone had told me a year ago that a drone equipped with artificial intelligence would be able to lock onto a target on its own, I wouldn’t have believed it,” says a drone engineer known by the call sign “Energetyk.” The Ukrainian ARMY MEDIA shows exclusive footage of the HX-2 in combat—the latest German loitering munition from the company Helsing. This high-tech drone was developed to effectively destroy enemy armored vehicles, artillery, and fortified structures.
