G29 for the Bundeswehr

The German Armed Forces will be receiving the RS9 sniper rifle as the G29, manufactured by Haenel. The .338 Lapua Magnum rifle will be used by special forces of the Army and Navy after the company C. G. Haenel GmbH was awarded the contract.

The RS9 sniper rifle from Haenel is coming to the German Armed Forces as the G29. As a spokesperson from the S&T-Blog informed upon inquiry, "the best-placed bidder in the tendering process for the G29 (medium-range sniper rifle), the company C. G. Haenel GmbH, has now been awarded the contract." The bolt-action rifle in caliber .338 Lapua Magnum (8.6 x 70mm) is manufactured in Suhl. Currently, the delivery of a first batch of 115 weapons is taking place. The users will be the special forces of the Army and the Navy.
