Germany and Sweden advance in the CAVS program for armored vehicles. Sweden procures 20 PATRIA 6x6 vehicles ahead of Germany. The program aims to introduce a new state-of-the-art armored vehicle system. Visit PATRIA's website for more information.
Germany has taken the next contractual step today as part of the multinational CAVS (Common Armoured Vehicle System) program, after signing the letter of intent in June 2022. By signing the Technical Agreement, Germany has officially joined the program. Sweden joined the program in 2022 and is now moving to the next stage of preparing for the series procurement phase of the framework agreement, being ahead of Germany: PATRIA has signed a contract with the Swedish procurement agency for defense materials (FMV) for the purchase of 20 armored 6×6 vehicles branded PATRIA. The first deliveries of the vehicles, referred to as Pansarterrängbil 300 in Sweden, will take place within the year 2023.
CAVS, originally initiated by Finland and Latvia, is a collaborative program of multiple governments to introduce a state-of-the-art new armored vehicle system.
