The guys from FROG.PRO have received feedback. A professional, a member of the US Army, treated himself to the latest plate carrier from the Italian gear smithy – and he informed the Italian gear manufacturer what he personally thinks of the HAWK.

Good morning!

I just wanted to reach out to provide a brief review of the HAWK plate carrier that I ordered. I've had some time to wear it and use it in exercises. Right off the bat, I have to say that the HAWK is probably the most comfortable plate carrier I have ever worn, especially right out of the box. With my previous plate carriers and other rigs, I always had to pay for additional padding, and even then, they never quite fit right. The padding on the HAWK, however, is just excellent. I can honestly say that I've never felt uncomfortable while on the move or just wearing the carrier, even with a full combat load and heavier plates.

Another outstanding feature of the HAWK that I want to mention is the cummerbund. Specifically, the more pronounced cummerbund that was released as an accessory for the HAWK. While elastic cummerbunds allow for a perfect fit, it can be difficult to securely attach side plates or additional pouches to them as they tend to be a bit too soft when loaded with weight. The HAWK's cummerbund, thanks to the bungee cord system, can be adjusted like an elastic cummerbund but has the rigidity and durability of a solid cummerbund. Along with the Velcro lining on the inside, these features made mounting side plates a breeze and also allowed me to attach an IFAK and some additional GP pouches on the side, providing me with more storage and equipment options while still allowing the cummerbund to adapt to my movements or posture."

Overall, I think the HAWK is an excellent plate carrier. Lightweight, minimalist design, rigid (yet elastic) cummerbund reminiscent of an IOTV/AVS (I would say the Utility cummerbund is the best I've ever used, far better than any comparable cummerbund), and placket system and the ability to mount Velcro pockets and accessories were flawlessly implemented. The carrier itself is highly modular and can be worn as “slick” or fully loaded as desired by the end user. While I wasn't a fan of quick-release buckles in the past, I find the positioning of these buckles excellent and I have no problems in quickly and comfortably donning the weapon. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship is also the finest I've ever seen and definitely worth the price."

I can honestly say that the HAWK is my preferred carrier for private use and as many professional deployments as possible, in pretty much any situation I can imagine. I think the FROG.PRO team has done fantastic work, and I really appreciate you working with me on my special order. I look forward to seeing what further products are developed to further enhance the HAWK and the FROG.PRO line in general.
