The SCAR-SC for Thuringia

To counter terrorism, the Thuringian police are getting new weapons with long range and stopping power. The medium distance weapons (MDW) can hit targets over 100 meters away. With sights and single shot capability, they minimize the risk to innocent bystanders. Each patrol car will carry one in the future. The FN SCAR-SC from Belgian manufacturer FN Herstal – represented in Germany by TEUTODEFENCE – is replacing the MP5 from HECKLER&KOCH. The rifles are currently being prepared at the Central Weapons Workshop of the Thuringian State Criminal Police Office. By the end of January, the nearly 1100 MDWs are expected to be delivered.
