FIRST VIEW: High end stuff from OPS Core

There are packages that make us feel like a child at Christmas or on our birthday when we open them. Sometimes both. That's exactly the kind of package we received from IEA Mil-Optics for testing. What's inside represents the current top class of hearing protection and also includes a very special respirator mask.

Ops-Core AMP Headset

First up, we have the Ops-Core AMP Headset. It is so much more than just an active hearing protection with a microphone. As the abbreviation AMP for Adaptive Mission Platform suggests, this headset is extremely modular. Quickly switched from headband to helmet adapter, paired with the best 3D hearing capability on the market so far, it is a joy to use.

We have here the high-end version with detachable radio cables and activated NFMI for testing. NFMI is another extremely useful feature of the AMP Headset. NFMI stands for "Near Field Magnetic Induction" and allows you to use special earplugs with the AMP. Wearing them alone or when NFMI is deactivated with the AMP, you simply have an (additional) noise reduction of 12 dB. When NFMI is activated, the sounds are simply transmitted as if you didn't have them in at all. Really impressive in practice.

Ops-Core SOTR Half Mask

The Special Operations Tactical Respirator (SOTR) Half Mask provides protection against a variety of particles that should not enter the lungs, and it is designed for use with a long gun.

At first glance, it resembles standard half masks, only SOTR has the filter in the center and comes in all black.
