Ferkinghoff: Compact handgun MC2c

After the phenomenal success of Mossberg's first semi-automatic pistol MC1sc in the company's 100-year history, Mossberg introduces the next variant of this feature-rich model series: the Pistol MC2c (Compact) Cal. 9mm.

The combination of excellent ergonomics, function-oriented features, and double-stack magazines makes this pistol a new dimension for concealed carry, hunting applications, or sport shooting.

The MC2c features a 3.9″ (9.91cm) barrel, an overall length of 7.1″ (18.03 cm), a surprisingly narrow width of 1.10″ (2.79 cm), a height of 4.90″ (12.45 cm), and a weight of only 21 ounces (595 g). The design prioritized compact size and light weight.

In addition to comfortable carry, ergonomic design details of this compact pistol allow for easy shooting. The grip features a hand-filling palm swell, a 1911-style grip angle, and Mossberg's rough "Signature" surface for a secure grip. The stainless steel slide has front and rear serrated cocking serrations for secure handling. The magazine release is located behind the trigger guard and is reversible for right- or left-handed shooters. Models with a crossbolt safety also have a reversible safety switch.

The MC2s frames are made of glass-reinforced polymer with exceptional strength and rigidity, impact resistance, and resistance to chemical influences. The slides are available in Black DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) or matte stainless finish.
Integrated into the slide is the Mossberg STS (Safe Take Down) System, which allows disassembly of the pistol for cleaning and maintenance without needing to pull the trigger, unlike most competitors' firearms. The pistol also features low-profile, laterally adjustable 3-dot sights, a CNC-machined stainless steel barrel with 1-16″ twist in black DLC finish, front rail, enlarged trigger guard, and flat trigger with integrated trigger safety. The trigger has a short reset, reduced overtravel, and a trigger weight of approximately 5.5 pounds (2,495 g).

The double-stack MC2c magazines (13-round flush, 15-round extended) are made of coated steel with low friction and high wear resistance. The magazine follower is highly visible, and the baseplate can be easily removed for disassembly and cleaning.
