As a representative and importer of well-known US brands, Ferkinghoff International attracted special attention in the political environment at IWA Outdoor 2023 in Nuremberg. On the one hand, this was due to the visit of the local State Secretary Roland Weigert, MDL (Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy), whose responsibilities also include foreign trade promotion. The intention of the economic policy of his ministry is to strengthen Bavarian companies so that they can successfully compete in national and international markets.

With his visit to Ferkinghoff as an example of a long-standing successful medium-sized company with connections to international markets, he emphasized these intentions and informed himself particularly about the challenges of the industry and how they are addressed in entrepreneurial action with the managing directors Andrea and Achim Ferkinghoff. Weigert is himself an enthusiastic hunter and took the opportunity to learn about the latest products from Ferkinghoff.

Looking at the European market and the close cooperation with US companies, Ferkinghoff International has long been in touch with the US Consulate in Munich. Also in Ferkinghoff's anniversary year, US Consul General Timothy Liston visited the importer's booth and its US producers at the IWA Outdoor. In talks with the management Andrea and Achim Ferkinghoff, he underlined the high interest in import companies serving markets in close cooperation with US partners, informed himself about the associated challenges in organizational and formal processes, and exchanged views with the representative of the brands represented at the booth.

In addition to his many political commitments and efforts to maintain good transatlantic relations, the Consul General has another passion – sports. He also knows the well-known US marksman Jerry Miculek, who was available at Ferkinghoff's booth for autographs, and did not miss the opportunity to get a personal dedication.
