Exclusive: IS calls for terror in Europe

12/25/2015By Redaktion

Christmas greetings from Raqqa will be sent on December 24th with a German-language video from the Islamic State (Daesh), which calls for terrorism in Europe. It is actually a music video featuring a well-known singer, namely Deso Dogg (above). The former rapper had joined Daesh, was briefly declared dead, but is rumored to still be alive. The video does not provide any indication of this, as the song itself is clearly older and had already been featured in a video from April 2015.

The main theme of the video is farewell letters and texts to brothers and mothers, combined with the call to not only go to Syria - the Hijra, the migration, is the IS's primary goal - but also to begin Jihad in Europe. A suitcase is turned into a gun (first image from the video), onto which a suppressor is screwed.

The video starts very bloody and shows the literal slaughtering of enemies. The call to imitate this is clearly stated: if the neighbor is a Kuffar, an unbeliever, one should take a knife and kill him.

For those with bigger plans: a car filled with explosives or gas cylinders can also help. In the video, the car is loaded with explosives and in this image, the detonator is being installed.

But it can also be done on a smaller scale: the man here is wearing the explosive belt. The safety pin of a grenade detonator can be partially seen, along with motivating calls in the subtext.

The sniper rifle works too. This is likely targeting "High Value Targets", as the image after the scene shows US President Obama.

To our knowledge, this video is the first IS video that massively calls for terrorism in Europe and with its images also acts like a guide, showing the potential attackers what options they have, from simple lone wolf knife attacks to "full-fledged" explosive attacks and clandestine pistol and sniper attacks. All of this is accompanied by the call to sacrifice oneself for Allah.

The source of this Christmas video is Al Hayat, the media production of Daesh. The high-quality production also indicates that importance is placed on this message. Or that even more should happen, as the video aims to instruct carrying out the war to Europe, where according to Daesh, much more should be happening than just "only" in Paris ...
