EXCLUSIVE: The new Lindnerhof combat suit is here

And there are two. Lindnerhof-Taktik has introduced their new, high-performance Advanced and AdvancedX combat suits today. They each consist of a field shirt, combat shirt, and combat pants. The Advanced BDU model is available in a classic five-color Flecktarn camouflage pattern,

Lindnerhof-Taktik CEO Jakob Kolbeck explains to SPARTANAT the considerations behind the development of the Advanced and AdvancedX BDUs, stating that the new garments represent a blend of classic elements and innovative materials and functions. "Take for example the field shirt - it has to look as good as it functions," says Kolbeck. "That's why we've combined traditional must-haves with new and unconventional ideas in terms of design and construction. The result is a field shirt with a cool look, chest pockets to store everything, forearm zippers for better ventilation, and Velcro closures over the front zipper flap for even more ventilation and comfort.

"Speaking of comfort: We've streamlined the shirt to function like a second skin. This includes camouflaged long sleeves with adjustable cuffs and areas for attachable patches, as well as a construction of breathable fabrics to support the wearer during warm weather missions - not to mention a highly durable fabric that withstands abrasion from plate carriers and other attachments."

Kolbeck explains that both the Advanced and AdvancedX versions of the combat shirt use a ceramic dot fabric in the torso area, known as "Lizard Skin."
"We've moved away from pure polyester and opted for the breathable Lizard Skin, which is both abrasion-resistant and comfortable," he said. "But we're not solely relying on the comfort of the material. We further enhance it with super-light mesh panels under the arms and a quarter front zipper. The Advanced and AdvancedX BDUs each use a different base material. The Advanced model, only available in Flecktarn, is based on the same twill used in the German Bundeswehr BDUs." The AdvancedX model - available in MultiCam® or Stone Grey - uses the nylon-cotton blend NyCo Extreme, which is lighter and more breathable.

"The parts of the two BDUs that require fabric reinforcement are made from classic 500-Denier CORDURA®," says Kolbeck. "The knees of the pants are one such area." Kolbeck points out that the combat pants allow users to attach protective knee pads from the three leading manufacturers of this specific accessory. "There's a ventilated zipper pocket for UF PRO knee pads and a receptacle for Arc'teryx Combat Knee Caps or Crye AirFlex™ Combat Knee Pads," he explains.

Another key feature of the combat pants is their pocket configuration. "Large cargo pockets, side pockets, and a lower leg pocket are present," says Kolbeck. He also emphasizes that the combat pants have a comfortable, glove-like fit thanks to the proven Flex Fit closure system, and that their highly adjustable, weight-saving integrated belt eliminates the need for a separate belt. "Additionally, we've integrated stretchable fabric sections made of Schoeller® Dynamic Stretch material into the pants," says Kolbeck. "These stretch panels are completely camouflaged and support the wearer exactly where they move."

Lindnerhof-Taktik is part of the Mehler Gruppe, which also includes the clothing manufacturer UF PRO. Kolbeck praises this sister company for contributing its expertise to the successful development of the Advanced and AdvancedX BDUs. "We worked very well together," he enthuses. "UF PRO is an excellent partner, and we greatly appreciate their willingness to share their knowledge." And the Mehler Gruppe, with UF PRO and Lindnerhof-Taktik, is a system house that can and will provide the complete personal equipment from combat suits to gear and plate carriers and ballistic protection.
