EUROSATORY: The Sherpa with mortar

On June 14, 2022, Arquus, Thales, and NTGS officially presented the new Sherpa A2M (Advanced Mobile Mortar) during a ceremony at the Arquus booth at Eurosatory 2022.

The Sherpa A2M is an adequate response to the tactical challenges faced by artillery in high-intensity warfare: mobility, protection, close support of troops on the ground, and mobile options for missile defense at a fraction of the cost of a self-propelled gun (SPG). The Sherpa A2M combines the excellent mobility of a Sherpa Light, NTGS's proven Deployable Mortar System, and Thales's 120mm mortar tube into a fully integrated new solution.

Thanks to Thales's capabilities, the vehicle can carry 120mm gun ammunition and in the future, laser-guided mortar ammunition. The towed mortar tube is three times more precise than a smoothbore mortar.
