Aimpoint surprises with a new red dot sight for pistols - the Acro P-1. Tested with around 20,000 rounds on a .40 cal pistol, it is robust and stable, as expected from Aimpoint optics. It can be used on a pistol as well as on a submachine gun or other weapons, even in combination with a magnifier. The Acro P-1 is completely enclosed and can therefore withstand a water depth of up to 25 meters. Battery life is one year at brightness level 6 out of 10. The battery can be changed while the optic is mounted. The design is based on functionality: the enclosed structure is intended to guarantee the protection of the optic in the exposed position on the slide. Compared to the popular RMR from Trijicon, which is often seen on pistols, the Acro appears bulky. The Acro P-1 has been optimized for pistol slides so that the optic can be integrated. Exactly what this looks like (dimensions/size/compatibility) is unfortunately not yet completely clear and can only be guessed from images. In the first pictures, it seems as if a rail is mounted on the pistol, on which the Acro sits. The price is also not yet known. However, the Acro P-1 is expected to be released in 2018. This once again confirms the general trend towards pistols with red dot sights. Find more information about the optic HERE.
