A British newspaper unpacked and photographed 20 quick meal sets from armies around the world, showcasing the diverse and unique rations soldiers consume. From peanut butter ravioli to freeze-dried curry, it offers an intriguing look at military sustenance.

You can recognize them by their food. Well, that might be a bit difficult. But a British newspaper - only British newspapers can do such things - unpacked and photographed 20 quick meal sets from armies around the world. Not that you would get particularly hungry from it, but it's interesting to see what people get to eat. In the image above is the MRE of the New Zealand army. Unfortunately, the "IRE" is not included - the "Inzersdorfer Ready to Eat", named after the Austrian canned food factory that sells their cans in green as army rations.
