Sometimes, the most wonderful gifts are not the big ones, but the small ones. The MCX Rattler is probably the smallest AR-15 variant on the market worldwide, ideal for concealed carry or personal protection (dramatized nicely in the video above).
There are two versions available, one for the 5.56mm caliber and one for .300 Blackout. The Blackout version can also be used with a corresponding suppressor. It is said to have been created in response to a request from DEVGRU/SOCOM. The Rattler will be showcased in Germany at Enforce Tac 2018 and will be available to view at the trade fair. The rifle is small, very small. About 41 centimeters when folded and 60 centimeters when the stock is extended. An M-Lok handguard and a RIS rail on the top offer a variety of mounting options for accessories.
Here are the technical details of both versions.
The name "Rattler" is not without reason. According to a persistent rumor, during initial full-automatic tests, the participants' teeth were chattering. Therefore, Rattle, meaning "clatter" in English, remained the project's name. If you would like to learn more, click HERE for an introduction to the SIG Sauer MCX class rifles.
