ENFORCE TAC 24: The expanded SCHUBERTH

02/25/2024By Redaktion

The head protection specialist SCHUBERTH GmbH from Magdeburg presents extensive and innovative accessories for its ballistic helmet M100 at the industry trade fair Enforce Tac 2024. The innovative accessory package includes a ballistic Mandible with a customized splinter protection visor and a new innovative helmet cover.

The new Mandible presented at Enforce Tac 2024 expands the ballistic coverage of the M100 with an above-average protective area. The user does not have to compromise on ballistic protection, as the Mandible offers the same performance as the helmet shell with a combined holding power according to NIJ IIIA and VPAM 2, or a V50 value according to STANAG 2920 of over 700 m/s. The accessory is complemented by the new ballistic visor concept, which seamlessly integrates between the helmet shell and Mandible, providing high fragmentation protection and protecting the user's eyes from impact and particles. Since the visor is attached to the NVG-Shroud, an additional mounting option has been developed. This allows the user to use helmet-mounted night vision technology for the first time with a central visor attachment. Additionally, the visor sits closely against the helmet shell when open, reducing the risk of collisions in tight spaces or vehicles.

Milad Youkhanna, Head of Military & Law Enforcement, explains the concept behind the new helmet cover: "When working on our new cover, we focused on the current challenges and the exceptional functionality of the M100 helmet. To achieve this, we further developed the already very successful SCHUBERTH Extended Connection Devices (ECD). The new Stitchable Extended Connection Devices allow an unprecedented fit while being very easy to handle." The cover fits directly and completely wrinkle-free on the helmet shell. At the same time, the function of cable management and the attachment possibility of bungees (seen below) is fully ensured, as our users already appreciate with the delivered ECDs.

BALLISTIC HEAD PROTECTION SYSTEM M100

The SCHUBERTH M100 is a modern combat helmet with above-average comfort and high ballistic protection. With its rail system with open architecture and adjustable interior equipment, it offers outstanding performance in all threat situations. An above-average amount of common parts across all sizes and optimized repairability guarantee low lifecycle costs and a high level of sustainability.

The modern helmet shell technology provides a balanced mix of high-quality protection and a material composition that is not only durable and resistant but also allows for complete helmet repair. The M100 combines ballistic protection according to NIJ IIIA and VPAM 2 (5 cm edge shot) with demanding shock absorption according to climbing helmet standard EN 12492, whitewater helmet standard EN 1385, and industrial safety helmet standard EN 397.

Available as High, Mid, or Fullcut, the M100 stands out for its cross-manufacturer compatibility with earmuff and communication solutions. The Ergonomic Headset Loop (EHL) specially developed for the M100 is a webbing guide with rigid segments that frame the earmuffs, ensuring a perfect fit even during dynamic activities. This is complemented by the Divided Modular Liner (DML), a two-piece head-ring that allows not only optimal positioning of the earmuffs under the helmet but also individual adaptation to the user's head shape.

Therefore, the Device Connection Interface System (DCIS) of the SCHUBERTH M100 features a side rail pair and a night vision mount in addition to a rear rail. This open system architecture allows for future compatibility with procured peripheral devices. However, the specially developed SCHUBERTH Extended Connection Devices (ECD) enable a completely new dimension of integrating and managing peripheral devices with connections distributed across all interfaces, providing an unprecedented level of advanced cable management and the integration of additional accessories such as lights, covers, or artificial camouflage elements.
