More Reach for Modern Optics: The TARAC Charlie Prism from Tacom HQ Increases Shooting Distance for Small Arms

1MOA GmbH will be presenting the Tarac C at Enforce TAC 2022 (Booth 12-414) in Europe for the first time ever. This is a Prism newly developed by the US company Tacom HQ for Ultra-Long-Range Shooting. The Tarac C was developed by the company's founder John Baker to enable snipers to shoot beyond 2500m.

Modern sniper optics or long-range optics typically have an adjustment range of up to 35 MIL (e.g., ZCO 527). While this adjustment range is considerable, it is not sufficient for shooting with small arms at distances beyond 2 km. Even the forward tilt of the mount reaches its limits at around 40 MOA. This is exactly the problem (insufficient adjustment range, too little forward tilt) that Tacom HQ has tackled and developed a prism that breaks the line of sight in a predefined range. In practice, the use of this attachment can look as follows: Use the existing optic of the small arm up to the maximum intended distance. Once the maximum adjustment range is reached, place the Tarac C in front of the daylight optic and gain additional adjustment range by breaking the line of sight.

In this way, Paul Phillips, founder of Global Precision Group LLC, set a long-range shooting record over 7000 yds with a sporty long-range weapon.

In addition to the different solutions for long-range shooting provided by the Tarac B and C, John Baker has developed another prism for assault rifle shooters that works on a similar principle and can increase the effective combat distance of the infantryman up to 600 m.
