A helmet of the future could be seen at Rainier Arms. The Ronin from DEVTAC from Japan, in the version shown, offers protection up to NIJ Level II but can be upgraded to Level IV. The plates are easily replaceable. To put it on, the back part must first be fixed on the head. A headband and a chin strap secure it in place. The band is made of cotton and is very comfortable to wear. Then comes the front part of the helmet.
The interior of the large shell is well padded and even has two fans at the top for good air circulation.
The helmet must be hooked in at the top first and then it snaps in on the side.
The wearing comfort is better than expected, if the size of the chosen helmet fits. The visibility is also very good.
Here is a detail of the built-in lenses.
The helmet also has a mount for a night vision device - Skeleton Shroud in the center at the top - as well as rails on the side for additional accessories.
And if not ballistic, the wearer with the DEVTAC helmet definitely looks much cooler. Prices start at €1,000 depending on the equipment and accessories, and increase very quickly. Devtac has experienced delivery difficulties in the past, so patience is required for serious interest.
