Enforce Tac 18: Haenel introduces the CR 308

C. G. Haenel expands its semi-automatic CR line with the caliber variant .308 Win. or 7.62 x 51 NATO, focusing on government sales with this addition to the range. Björn Dräger, Haenel Defence Sales Director, told SPARTANAT: "We are not only aiming for more caliber variety, but especially for the more powerful cartridge as an alternative to 5.56 x 45 NATO."

Over the past years, Haenel has continuously built up the CR semi-automatic in the modified AR15 standard into an extensive product and accessory system. This has been aided by a strategic cooperation with the Swiss weapons and accessories specialist B&T, whom C. G. Haenel represents in Germany as the general distributor. The rifle is an indirect gas pressure loader (piston system) with adjustable gas intake for optional suppressor use.

The CR 308, like the original CR 223, was developed for police and military use, with both semi-automatics using many identical parts, making training and system changes easier. The details are functional and user-friendly; there are many professional features and customization options available.

Features for left-handed shooters include ambidextrous controls like charging handle, bolt catch, 60-degree safety, and magazine release. The trigger system comes in two variations: standard is the pressure point trigger (weight 28-35 N), which can be optionally switched out for a match trigger (weight 17-20 N).

In .308 Win. caliber, barrel lengths of 14.5, 16.5, 18, and 20 inches are available. The six-position adjustable stock ensures optimal ergonomics, and it can also accommodate standard AR-15 stocks (MIL-SPEC). A special feature of the new CR generation is the tool-less removable handguard with two NAR rails (12 and 6 o'clock positions) and KeyMod interfaces (3 and 9 o'clock positions).
