RUAG Ammotec expands its portfolio in the optics sector, now also offering ELCAN target optics. In addition to the high-quality Tangent Theta brand target optics, Armament Technology will now exclusively distribute ELCAN brand target optics through Ammotec in the military and law enforcement sectors. This further strengthens the partnership between the two companies.
Canadian optics and target system manufacturer Armament Technology has been the Master Distributor for ELCAN brand target optics since 1994. Now the company is once again relying on Ammotec's European dealer network. "We are very excited to work with Ammotec for the ELCAN brand as well. The entire Ammotec team works very professionally and has years of expertise and an established and strong dealer network," says Trevor Publicover, Vice President Sales of Armament Technology. At the beginning of the year, an exclusive distribution partnership was established between Ammotec and Armament Technology, initially focusing on the distribution of the own Tangent Theta brand.
ELCAN target optics are designed for military applications and provide solutions for the use of armed forces and police units worldwide. For example, the ELCAN Specter DR combines the benefits of a red dot sight with those of a compact riflescope. It was the first riflescope known to allow the user to change magnification with a switch lever while maintaining the reticle, sharpness, and field of view (Dual-View-Setup). "The optical systems from ELCAN are designed for soldiers and tested for these missions. Each of the systems works at the crucial moment and the shooter can fully concentrate on their target. We have this standard for all our products and are happy to be able to actively support our customers in precision, accuracy, hit rate, and probability of hits with the ELCAN brand," says René Hauser, Senior Director Business Development & Portfolio at RUAG Ammotec DLE. All products from Armament Technology are exclusively distributed by the Defence & Law Enforcement business unit at Ammotec and are intended for military and law enforcement use.
The parent company Armament Technology was founded in the late 1980s in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and has been specializing in optics and target systems since the mid-1990s. The company has been responsible for distributing and supporting ELCAN brand target optics since 1994. Building on this foundation, the company has focused intensively on the fundamentals and challenges of this product group and quickly recognized the potential for improvement in the design and functionality of target optics. Well-known examples include improved solutions for weapon system tracking and the further development of the so-called "zero" position.
