Eagle Industries have always been present with products such as the Modular Assault Pack (MAP) or the 3-Day Assault Pack (A-III-P) when it comes to carrying equipment among US-SOF. To bridge the gap between the relatively small, MOLLE-compatible MAP and the three-day non-MOLLE-compatible A-III Pack, the Yote was developed.
As already indicated, the Eagle Yote is a hybrid of the two older Eagle packs in terms of usability. Therefore, it has both an integrated MOLLE attachment and normal shoulder straps. Since it is designed to be worn over protective vests, it does not have back padding. A plastic backplate adds additional stability to the pack.
The backpack comes with a water bladder from Source. Source has been gaining popularity recently with its products, especially its water bladders. These are harder than those of the competition, making them less flexible but more durable and easier to clean.
The main compartment of the Yote has a capacity of approximately 10 liters, enough to accommodate a MRE and some extras alongside the hydration bladder. On each side, there is a small pocket with a volume of around 1.6 liters for tools, ammunition, or similar items. What makes the backpack popular as a load carrier is the kangaroo pouch, large enough to hold a helmet with any additional accessories such as NVGs and similar items. There is also a utility pouch at the front. Velcro areas for attaching patches are also available.
The Eagle Yote is now available in the USA for prices between USD 150 - 180.
