After a public tender, the German Bundestag approved in December 2022 the conclusion of a framework agreement between the Elbit Consortium, consisting of Elbit Systems Germany, its Israeli parent company, and the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw).
The E-LynX radios are used at the group and platoon level and are installed on various combat vehicles. They are a key component for networked warfare and enable advanced networked combat solutions in all environments.
The SDR systems of the E-LynX family are designed with an open architecture and provide interoperable multi-channel network capabilities that allow dynamic and autonomous optimization of spectrum resources and simultaneous execution of missions, ensuring fast, robust, and secure communication in any terrain.
The production of the SDRs will take place at the Ulm facility of Elbit Systems Germany and the SDRs are expected to be deployed in the armed forces over the next 6 to 8 years. The contract includes several thousand E-LynX systems in handheld and vehicle radio configurations, as well as the necessary services and accessories for operation.
