DSEI 2023: Using AARTOS against drones

AARONIA AG offers particularly flexible customizable solutions for all requirements and budgets with AARTOS DDS. At this year's DSEI, several hundred industry visitors were convinced of this at the AARONIA booth. The interest in detection focused mainly on the mobile X2 and the high-end solution X9. Regarding drone defense, the programmable AARTOS 360° Smart Jammer was the center of attention.

The AARTOS X2 stands out in its version designed specifically for military requirements for its compact form factor and quick readiness. In case of emergency, it can be operational in less than 30 seconds. With a standard range of up to five kilometers, the AARTOS X2 is able to decrypt drone protocols and determine the real-time location of drones. When used in stationary mode, the range can be expanded to up to 40 kilometers. It also has the ability to record and replay data, making it ideal for protecting mobile units from drone threats.

The AARTOS X9 is the most powerful drone detection system in the AARTOS series. It offers seamless ultra-wideband monitoring with 4+ independent receivers and an optimized amplifier group. The AARTOS X9 scans the entire frequency range over 1,000 times per second. With a base range of up to 14 kilometers, it is ideal for monitoring large areas. By scaling multiple AARTOS™ X9 systems, the range can be increased to up to 50 kilometers if needed. Particularly interesting for military use is that the AARTOS X9 can be fully integrated into a vehicle or a shelter solution according to military standards for mobile use. The latter is equipped to operate autonomously for up to three months.

In both versions, AARTOS offers unique features compared to competitors' systems. The system not only determines the position and speed of drones but also their altitude. It ensures high-speed drone activity tracking by scanning the entire frequency spectrum, including simultaneous scans of different frequencies to locate all drones operating on radio signals. AARTOS provides real-time drone and operator location data. The AARONIA proprietary software solution RTSA-Suite PRO plays a central role in this. The powerful real-time spectrum analysis software allows for the integration of various hardware components for evaluation and guarantees easy, efficient, and optimal use of the respective system.

This jammer stands out for its extremely long range of up to 10 kilometers. It also allows for complete, individual customization or programmability of any frequency range within 400MHz to 6GHz in real-time via Drag & Drop. It covers all drones in the frequency range and can selectively interfere with them automatically or by the operator of the jammer.
