The helmet industry is moving fast: at DSEI in London, Gentex presents the new Ops-Core FAST SF helmets. SF is explicitly for Special Operation Forces. The friends from FRAG OUT Magazine were the first to see them and sent these two images out into the world.

On top is the ballistic version, below is the new Carbon version. The exciting thing is that everything is actually new on these helmets - even though they look similar to their predecessors. This starts with the Velcro, which is now cut in a way that optimizes thermal detection and allows for the MOHOC helmet camera to be worn. The interior is also completely different, and the helmet can now be removed without having to remove the Comtacs. The new shroud on the helmet looks like Wilcox, but it's actually Ops-Core. Lanyards are attached directly to the mounting for night vision devices, the metal interior can be replaced to accept different Rhinos. In the Carbon version, the shape of the ventilation holes is different. With the mandible and goggles, the ballistic helmet provides 360-degree protection.

The rails have been redesigned so that you don't have to attach everything in one place at the same time: the mandible here fits behind the rail, leaving space free for mounting the goggle attachment. The two-layer structure of the new rails can be clearly seen in the image. Personal hearing protection is attached to the sloping arm of the rail at the back. If you are interested in all the new features of the Ops-Core FAST SF, the friends at Soldier Systems have taken a close look HERE.
