Israel is currently interested in armed drones. Leading the way is the TIKAD from Duke Robotics in America. What sets it apart is not only its size, which allows infantry and mobile units to bring the drone onto the battlefield, but also its payload capacity. It can carry a weight of up to ten kilograms, enough to deploy various weapons such as AR-15 rifles or even grenade launchers. To be able to fire these weapons accurately and compensate for recoil, the weapons are mounted on a gimbal. Unlike previous armed drones, which are controlled from a distance in a room, this one is operated by a person on the ground.
Therefore, it is an ideal tool in scenarios where attackers hide behind civilians or fire mortars at troops in unfamiliar areas. The drone can then effectively eliminate these threats while avoiding collateral damage.
