In 1987, during the existence of the Soviet Union, various weapons were being developed, including the Barrett M82A1 in .50 BMG caliber. We stumbled across this photo from 1987. The Soviet Union still existed and all kinds of weapons were being tinkered with, including the popular Barrett M82A1 in .50 BMG caliber. It's a bit of a shame that this shoulder-fired bullpup variant didn't catch on. Certainly a frightening sight on the battlefield.
