The new pistol optics from MEPROLIGHT

07/11/2024By Redaktion

We had the opportunity to take a look at the new pistol optics at the BROWNELLS / MEPROLIGHT Roadshow and also to test them in sharp shooting. In the lead image you can see the two entry-level models, the MPO-S and the MPO-DF.

MPO-DS

The cheapest and simplest is the MEPRO MPO-S. It has only automatic brightness adjustment, is always on, at least as long as the battery still has power, and has "only" a 3.5 MOA dot. It is screwed onto the weapon using an RMSc hole pattern.

Our first impression, it does what it is supposed to do. For those who are not yet sure, want to get a taste of the world of pistol red dots, but don't want to spend several hundred euros right away, it's a good start.

MPO-DF

The MPO-DF is equipped with more functions. It is slightly larger, so an RMR hole pattern is used. You can also manually control the brightness with a side button. The battery can be removed from the other side without having to unscrew the optic.

A solid optic for sport shooters and all those who want to become one.

MPO-F and MPO-S

The first two optics, also designed to be used in conjunction with night vision devices. The MPO-F is intended for normal-sized "Full Size" pistols and the MPO-S for slim models, i.e. "Slim". Both can also change the reticle. Either dot, dot with circle around it, or just the circle.

The MPO-F also works very well on the long gun, thanks to the included adapter plate from RMR to Picatinny.

The MPO-S has the same functions, only it is slightly smaller and uses an RMSc mount. It works very well, for example, on the Glock 48 MOS. By the way, you no longer need a MOS-standard intermediate plate with the G48 MOS.

MPO Pro-F and MPO Pro-S

Leaving the world of open emitters and moving on to the two encapsulated red dot models. The MPO Pro-F and the MPO Pro-S. The same functions as the previous two, but executed as "closed emitter".

As expected, one is intended for full-size pistols and the other for slimline models. However, the slimline models fit great on full-size pistols too.

For those who use the pistol more tactically and with night vision, enclosed optics on the pistol are a must. The Pro models are mounted on a kind of mini Picatinny rail, similar to an ACRO. In the picture you can see the adapter plate on adapter plate solution for GLOCK MOS, but MEPROLIGHT is working on an adapter plate that you can screw directly onto MOS models.

Overall, all optics make a very good first impression. In terms of price, the optics shown are expected to range from just under 200 to around 460 euros. Of course, we particularly like the MPO Pro-F, but tastes vary. The shown MEPROLIGHT pistol optics will be available at BROWNELLS.at at the end of the month.
