The new Glock 44 in the video

We were present at the official release date of the new GLOCK 44 in Deutsch Wagram, the headquarters of GLOCK. The pistol was presented in great detail to representatives from specialized media and retailers at this event. We also had the opportunity to talk to the designers of this weapon.The features of the GLOCK 44 at a glance:

• Compact size, same dimensions as a GLOCK 19 Gen5 (not compatible!)
• Safe-Action System (no external safety)
• .22 Longrifle caliber (.22 l.r.)
• All features of a GLOCK Gen 5 pistol
• Slide: Steel/Polymer hybrid
• Barrel: GMB profile with rifled cartridge chamber and Ghosthole as load indicator
• Barrel length: 102 mm (standard GLOCK 19 length)
• Available with and without threaded barrel (M9 x 0.75mm, adapter for 0.5" -28 UNEF)
• 10 round magazine - polymer only without metal reinforcement, with loading aid
• New adjustable rear sight
• Higher reliability than other comparable pistols

Sounds good on paper, but how does the GLOCK 44 really perform? We were able to see for ourselves at the in-house shooting range.

With four pistols, two with silencers and two without, several hundred shots were fired without any intermediate cleaning or lubrication. Various .22 l.r. cartridges from different manufacturers were also used. None of the pistols experienced any stoppages or other malfunctions.
