Elbit introduces a new system called SmarTrack. This system is designed to allow infantry soldiers to display friendly units on a small, portable device weighing less than 150 grams. It does this without relying on GPS signals.
GPS signals are notoriously difficult to receive within buildings, underground, or in adverse weather conditions. The SmarTrack system, however, uses radio frequency, which is intelligently analyzed. This not only creates a two-dimensional image, but even a three-dimensional one, which is crucial for operations inside a building. The system is also part of Elbit's Dominator System, which aims to provide soldiers with as much information as possible during operations.
