The EAGLEs are moving to Denmark

12/17/2020By Redaktion

The Danish Ministry of Defence has awarded General Dynamics European Land Systems-Mowag (GDELS-Mowag) with the delivery of 56 patrol vehicles and a first prototype of an open reconnaissance vehicle EAGLE 4x4. This second order is part of the framework contract for highly protected patrol vehicles (Armored Patrol Vehicle, APV), which GDELS-Mowag and the Danish Procurement Authority (DALO) signed in June 2017 after the EAGLE 4x4 was selected as the winner of the APV tender. The delivery of the 57 vehicles will begin at the end of 2021 and will be completed in 2022. "We warmly thank the Danish Ministry of Defence for its continued trust in our EAGLE 4x4 vehicle platform, our engineering, and our industrial capabilities," says Giuseppe Chillari, GDELS Vice President for wheeled vehicles and Managing Director of GDELS-Mowag. "I am particularly proud that Denmark, as a NATO member, is the first country to order the open version of our EAGLE 4x4 vehicle. We look forward to delivering the new open EAGLE version to Denmark to test and evaluate it there. We are convinced that Denmark will benefit from operating the entire vehicle fleet based on our state-of-the-art 4x4 wheel family concept," Chillari adds.

The EAGLE family of light tactical vehicles is very successful - over 1,500 EAGLE vehicles are in operation worldwide.
