The Alu-Receiver Forge

KAISER Aluminium Forging Technology might not mean much to anyone, but the likelihood is very, very high that if you have a European AR-15 or AR-10 system, the receiver comes from KAISER. They supply almost all the major manufacturers in Europe with their forged aluminum receivers.

Here you can see the typical process of a lower receiver for an AR-15. First, the raw forged part. All holes and threads are then milled into it. In the end, it is either hard-anodized or coated - commonly referred to as "painted." Forged housings have significantly better durability than those that are simply milled from a single piece of aluminum.

There are three ways in which the receivers, semi- or fully automatic, come to the customer:

• Raw parts only
• Milled without surface treatment
• Milled with surface treatment
