The ALG mount for the Glock

02/19/2015By Redaktion

From ALG Defense comes an interesting extension for the Glock 17. The rail covers the slide and frame of the Glock 17. It is mounted on the Picatinny rail in front of the trigger guard and has two platforms: at the bottom, it essentially doubles the Picatinny rail and can be used for a weapon light (with laser). On top of the slide, the second platform is ready to mount a red dot sight, specifically an Aimpoint Micro. The Micro may look large and bulky on the Glock at first glance, but it actually looks very good. Because the AGL arm is attached to the frame, the sight does not absorb the full dynamic of the slide like an RMR that is mounted at the back of the slide. Special weapons require special holsters: from Raven Concealment, there is already a model available to accommodate the upgraded Glock. Rumor has it that this weapon system is being used by a "certain unit." The veiled description among Americans most likely refers to either Delta or DEVGRU. The 6 Seconds Mount is said to have gotten its name from a statement made by an operator: "The fight lasts 6 seconds... Either they're dead or you're dead, and aggression saves the day." Red dot sights on pistols are not important at short distances (3-5m), but they are said to lead to better results when shooting at longer distances.
