German LEOPARD 2 gets protection system TROPHY

The LEOPARD 2 is getting a new look. From the front of the turret, you will clearly see its active protection. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) will install the Israeli protection system TROPHY in German LEOPARD 2 tanks. The contract for this was signed with the German Equipment Office (BAAINBw) and the State of Israel on February 22, 2021. The TROPHY is capable of destroying incoming projectiles before they hit a tank. KMW, together with the Israeli manufacturer Rafael, adapted the TROPHY system to the LEOPARD 2 A7 and tested it with the BAAINBw and the German user. In addition to installation, the contract also includes training and service. The integration of TROPHY will be completed in 2023.
