The Action Days at AUSTRIA ARMS featured a thrilling Range Day, allowing participants to shoot a variety of handguns and rifles. Highlights included shooting submachine guns, shotguns, and precision rifles at different stands, providing a unique hands-on experience with top firearms. Participants returned with new insights and memories.
The loud highlight of the Action Days at AUSTRIA ARMS was definitely the Range Day. This was divided into Handgun and Rifle. Depending on your preference, you can choose one or of course both. We were also present at the Rifle Range Day. You can find the report from the Handgun Range Day HERE.
After signing up and receiving the small goodie bag with a patch, sticker, ear protection, snack, and water bottle, we headed to the bus that took us to the shooting range. To be precise, to the Proof House in Vienna Süßenbrunn. As a regular civilian, you can also go there and use the shooting ranges.
After a brief introduction, we already got started. At most stands, there were two weapons on display, and there were 10 shots per stand. So you can decide for yourself what and how much you want to shoot. Once fired, safety is established, and it's off to the adjacent shooting range. This repeats until you end up back at the lane where the shooter started. We always split the cartridges over both weapons.

At the first shooting range, we started with 9 mm submachine guns. A B&T SPC9 and a B&T APC9 with suppressor. Like last year, it was truly a joy to shoot these two.

Stand two was the shotgun stand where you could shoot a BENELLI M4 Drone Guardian in direct comparison to a BERETTA 1301 Tactical shotgun. Let's just say, due to its higher weight, the Benelli shot much more comfortably than the lightweight BERETTA, which kicked quite a bit. Overall, both are flawless shotguns.

One stand further, a very exciting encounter. Two high-end AR15 systems in the form of a KNIGHTS ARMAMENT KS1 from the SAS and the NOVESKE N4 from DEVGRU. Both shot very comfortably, and we understand why both are so popular. If only the selling price were a bit more wallet-friendly.

Next stand, OBERLAND ARMS versus HECKLER & KOCH. To be more specific, the OA-15 G96c with all accessories from OBERLAND ARMS and an H&K MR 223. The OA has direct impingement and the H&K has a gas piston system. Both shot very comfortably but differently. A tough choice.

New stand, new luck. Here it was CZ Bren 2 against SIG SAUER MCX Spear LT. Also, two great rifles, which we have no complaints about. Personally, we liked the CZ Bren 2 a bit better.

At the next stand, you could enjoy two AUGs. At first glance, both look identical except for the foregrip, but the devil is in the details.

One AUG had the new trigger from KAWATEC installed. It was very interesting to experience this in direct comparison. It definitely feels better than the factory AUG trigger.

At the next stand, we upgraded to .308. The options were the HAENEL CR 308 and the H&K MR308. Evil tongues claim that it was the same weapon at the stand twice, but we don’t allow ourselves to judge that. We can only say that both shot very well.

From the next stand, we venture into the world of precision rifles. Here is a CZ 600 in .308 with an MDT stock. A very nice rifle. Hitting the target at 100m was no problem.

If .308 is too little kick, the next stand featured 338 Lapua Magnum. A SAKKO TRG M10 was ready to go. We must admit, it had less recoil than expected and was simply a dream to shoot. Unfortunately, our wallet is a bit too small for this as well.

Unfortunately, this is already the last stand, but once again something special here, a CZ 600+ in .300 Blackout with suppressor and thermal imaging sight. Of course, subsonic ammunition was used. Super quiet and very fun to shoot.

View through the sight. To make it worth seeing, heating pads were stuck to the target. That's the white dot.
With this highlight, we also conclude the Rifle Range Day. Happy and with many new experiences, the shuttle takes us back to the Action Days right at AUSTRIA ARMS.
