DSS approves B.E. Meyers MAWL®-DA for weapon-mounted aiming and illumination. Modular platform with AA battery adapter for enhanced performance in low-light environments. Rigorously tested for DSS special agents working under night conditions. Future upgrades and modifications available.
The Diplomatic Security Service of the United States (DSS) has officially approved the B.E. Meyers & Co. MAWL®-DA (Modular Advanced Weapon Laser - Direct Action) for use as the primary weapon-mounted aiming and illumination laser. Initial large orders for the MAWL®-DA will provide DSS agents with a welcome advantage in low-light/no-light environments. Each MAWL® is equipped with the EndCap 2 from B.E. Meyers & Co. and features a brand new AA battery adapter for dual power options (AA or CR123 batteries).
As an inherently modular platform, the MAWL® allows for a variety of future upgrades and modifications. B.E. Meyers & Co. leveraged the system's flexibility to develop the AA battery adapter for the EC2 (EndCap 2), to meet the specific logistical challenges faced by DSS officials. This component simplifies supply chain hurdles in areas where CR123 batteries are not readily available, and is fully compatible with all EC2-equipped MAWL® variants. The AA battery option maintains the same performance values that make the MAWL® the preferred choice of professional end-users.

Prior to selecting the MAWL®-DA, the DSS subjected it to rigorous field and end-user testing. Its overall performance, including its modularity, AA compatibility, and patented near-infrared VCSEL technology, ensured that the MAWL®-DA was the choice for DSS special agents working abroad under night conditions.
The EC2-compatible AA battery adapter was specially designed to meet the requirements of DSS lasers, and initial production is focused on fulfilling current and future DSS orders. B.E. Meyers & Co. plans to distribute the AA battery adapter through MAWL® dealers after fulfilling government orders.
