Poland and South Korea signed a contract to produce K2 tanks in Poland, with Poland aiming to build 820 upgraded versions. The first shot of a Polish K2 tank was historic. The development signifies Poland's focus on its defense industry.
Every beginning has a magic in it. On March 31st, Poland and South Korea signed a contract to establish a consortium in Poland to produce K2 tanks and their components. Poland has bought 180 of these K2 tanks from South Korea and plans to build 820 upgraded versions of the tank as K2PL in Poland - the centerpiece being the development of its own defense industry to make this possible. At the same time, there was the historic first shot of a Polish K2 in Poland - shown in the image above and the video below.
