The BTR-82A receives a new air defense module with optoelectronic and radar systems to counter drones on the battlefield in Ukraine, featuring two 23mm anti-aircraft cannons.
Somehow a "poor man's Cheetah": The Russian BTR-82A has received a new air defense module. The turret is equipped with an optoelectronic system and a radar system for detecting air targets such as UAVs. The guns in the turret are two 23mm 2A7M anti-aircraft cannons (similar to ZSU-23-4 Shilka). Definitely an adaptation to the threat posed by drones on the battlefield in Ukraine.
