The boxer, who can even build bridges

The development of a bridging system on the Boxer vehicle, allowing for the quick deployment and retrieval of bridges up to 50 MLC and/or 15 meters in length.

07/11/2022  By Redaktion

Based on an idea from the Royal Dutch Army Engineer Regiment, a demonstrator for a bridging system on the Boxer was developed. This capability allows forces to quickly deploy and retrieve bridges up to 50 MLC and/or 15 meters in length. The system launches the bridge in front of the vehicle and is modular in design, allowing the Boxer to maintain its full functionality. The modular approach also means that the bridging capability can be attached and detached as needed, increasing mission flexibility. Rheinmetall Defence Nederland developed this system, which was recently presented at an event by the Royal Dutch Engineer Regiment, in close cooperation with partners GDELS - Bridge Systems and Pearson Engineering.
