In recent weeks, a soldier in Belgium has been searched for with all force after leaving a bizarre farewell letter and disappearing into the woods. The former elite soldier was said to have threatened to kill politicians and a virologist. The "Forest Rambo" - as the Belgians called him - has now been found dead. He is said to have taken his own life.
A cyclist found the man's body, who had been sought by police and special forces. The suspected right-wing extremist disappeared on May 17 after death threats against a prominent Belgian virologist near the Hoge Kempen National Park in the Limbourg region. According to authorities, a "suspicious mechanism," possibly an explosive device, was found in a car believed to belong to the wanted man. The car also contained heavy weapons (he is said to have taken four rocket launchers). The man was being investigated for attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons in a terrorist context. More information about the case in the "Brussel Times."
