Delta will be awarded
Members of Delta Force and Army Compartmented Elements were awarded for their role in the Benghazi evacuation, demonstrating the diverse recruitment of 1st SFOD-D. US Army personnel received Distinguished Service Cross while USMC personnel were awarded Navy Cross.
Two members of the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (also known as Delta Force and Army Compartmented Elements - and formerly Combat Applications Group) were awarded for their role in the evacuation of Benghazi, Libya. They were each awarded the second highest military decoration, the Distinguished Service Cross for the US Army personnel (left) and the Navy Cross for the USMC personnel (right). This also shows that the 1st SFOD-D is not only recruited from the ranks of the US Army.
