WILD announces its entry into the European market for military specialized clothing. The Finnish brand has been synonymous with high-performance cold protection clothing in Arctic regions for over 50 years. The first product of this new line is the TAIKA insulation jacket. It will be officially presented at the upcoming NATO Cold Weather Conference in Norway and you can have one for free.
The TAIKA jacket is the result of intensive development work and combines an innovative design with several new textile technologies. The heart of the jacket is TACDOWN, a revolutionary down filling produced in the EU.
Unlike traditional down fillings, which need to be sewn into chambers, TACDOWN is a type of down fleece in roll form. This construction effectively eliminates cold bridges that occur at the seams of traditional down chambers, providing a consistently homogeneous layer of insulation.
WILD develops and tests its products in Muonio, in the heart of Finnish Lapland, where temperatures below -30 °C in winter are the norm rather than the exception. This extreme environment serves as the company's testing laboratory and has led to unparalleled expertise in the development of insulation clothing. This profound experience is now being used to create clothing concepts that meet the uncompromising demands of modern military operations.
As is customary with other Finnish brands, the launch of the TAIKA jacket in Germany is somewhat "unconventional." They are looking for "100 FIELD TESTERS" who will receive a free TAIKA jacket in exchange for realistic and honest feedback. They are primarily seeking soldiers and professional users such as outdoor guides and similar. Applications can be submitted on the website at www.wild.fi or also with the German importer impress-markets GmbH at www.sabre-tactical.de.
The outstanding wearing climate of the TAIKA jacket is further enhanced by a special high-performance membrane with activated carbon particles, raising breathability to a new level. To ensure the membrane functions permanently, EMPEL technology—a DWR treatment that is permanently embedded in the fiber—renders any future re-impregnation unnecessary in practice.
Despite the multitude of high-end technologies, the TAIKA jacket will come to market at an extremely competitive retail price of under €400.
