DEATH REVIEW: ALTAMA OTB Maritime Assault Low

10/24/2020By Redaktion

Everything has an end. We announce with sadness that we are now parting ways with our ALTAMA OTB Maritime Assault Low – HERE in the SPARTANAT Review. We have worn them intensively for two years. As is often the case with separations, it is not a voluntary decision. At the top, the pair still looks quite good ...

...and even the drainage openings for the water in the amphibious shoes have held up fine, although we would have suspected this to be the first weak point. The Cordura as the outer skin is a real tank.

Inside, the heel of our shoe looks worn, but not too bad actually.

And even on the outside of the heel, it looks quite okay at first glance.

But here, death shows a gruesome face. The entire seam at the back is open. On the second shoe of the pair, it has also come loose and is heading towards this condition.

If it was just the seam, it might still be okay and could be/would be stitched by a cobbler, but here the whole structure is completely worn out.

The sole looks very good for two years of intense walking and would probably endure much more...

CONCLUSION: Great shoes that we have enjoyed wearing. You need to buy them one size larger, which likely leads to strain on the heel and thus the end. Two years for the Altamas worn daily have been a good time. We part ways in sorrow and get a new pair.

The Altama Maritime Assault is available, for example, at outer-limits in Austria. Inquiries about price, available sizes and colors (Coyote, Black, Multicam) directly to [email protected]
