Everything has an end, even the best relationship. Or let's say it directly: we've worn the 5.11 TACTICAL Defender-Flex Slim Jeans to death. Time to take them off, time for a Death Review: a final assessment of the beloved pair of pants.
It still looks pretty alive, but it's well worn. Comparing the pictures from five years ago to now, you'll notice that the dark indigo blue has turned into a solid "used look." No wonder, the pants have been worn a lot. Compared to other "Tactical Jeans," they are rather light in construction, and the flexible fabric makes them really comfortable.
Yes, we are pocket knife carriers, hence the signs of wear on the left back pocket. Standard. Other pants are reinforced specifically for the clip, but not this one.
The second problem spot is the right back pocket, where there's a hole from the wallet we always carry there.
But what has initiated the end of the pants' life are the holes in the seat. From the outside, it doesn't look so bad.
Looking through, you can see that everything is reduced to threads.
On the other hand, the cuff at the bottom has held up well.
Overall, the view from the back still looks fine. That was the initial situation: HERE we introduced the pants to you in 2018.
CONCLUSION: The Defender-Flex is a favorite pair of pants for us. Comfortable and practical, more jeans than "tactical," socially inconspicuous. It has accompanied us for a long time, and after five years of wear and tear, we are more than satisfied. It will be replaced, we will get the same one again. Never change a winning team.
You can get the 5.11 Tactical Defender-Flex Jeans, for example, at TACWRK as Indigo or as Dark Wash Indigo. Both for a pleasant 79.90 euros. Of course, the pants are also available at all other retailers carrying 5.11 Tactical.
