The 5th Defense Shooting Competition at Edelweiss marked a significant step in accordance with the Sportordnung für Internationales Verteidigungsschießen. Participants faced challenging scenarios involving sharp shooting and dynamic decision-making, highlighting the complexity of tactical engagements.

No expense was spared on dolls, targets, and other distractions.

Not every window could be shot at just because a weapon was seen. The woman in the middle was meant to represent a friend in the scenario, someone you know, and you were supposed to remember her face before entering the room. Policemen were also not to be shot at.
After going through several scenarios, you needed time to process the experiences and quickly realized how many decisions need to be made in a short amount of time when faced with an unknown room scenario.

After going through 5 live shooting stations, it was time to put away the weapon and focus on the FX station for the final assessment. There, however, another surprise awaited, as seen here.

Equipped with Airsoft Glocks from Umarex, the task was once again to enter room by room and engage all armed targets, unless they were policemen or otherwise designated as non-targets. Your approach was also judged, and major mistakes resulted in deductions.
That was it, and we were really impressed by all the effort put into the stations. We would love to do something like that more often, but this competition takes place only once a year.
For those who are interested and would like to give it a try, be sure to stop by the Christmas Competition on December 17th.
