Modular, durable, ergonomic, safe, lightweight, and interchangeable – this is how military carrying systems/belts must be constructed. Carry straps are ideally suited to support belt configurations of varying weights, where choosing the right model is crucial to ensure optimal support. The Finnish company SAVOTTA has developed a solution for supporting lighter belt configurations with the EX-Harness. The H-Harness, on the other hand, is particularly suitable for supporting heavier belt equipment. We will show you the differences between the two strap systems.
The webbing is made of 100% polyester, while the Multicam color variant is made of 100% polyamide.
The main material composition consists of 500D Cordura, which is made of 100% polyamide.
The tri-glides (trisliders) from 2M are made of polyamide. Polyamide buckles are robust because the material is abrasion-resistant, wear-resistant, and tough. The good glideability and impact resistance make it durable.
The question is to what extent carrying accessories in the form of bags and other small items in hip pants leads to a restriction of movement and physical discomfort. The robust and minimalist X-shaped harness supports the user in carrying lighter belt equipment.
The shoulder area has a width of 40 mm, while the attachment strap has a width of 25 mm.
The carrying strap features an increased width in the shoulder area, allowing for the option to attach a chest strap. There are corresponding loops for these purposes.
The device referred to as "open tri-glide construction" allows for a reliable attachment close to the belt or to various buckles, D-rings, or elastic loops – depending on the specific equipment.
These tri-glide buckles are also adjustable for length on the EX-Harness.
The shoulder area is characterized by an X-shaped structure.
The EX-Harness can be attached at four points on the belt, ensuring optimal load distribution.
At the upper back, there is an elastic cord loop that connects the straps together and provides flexibility.
Due to its low profile, it is suitable for use under protective vests.
The attachment is made using a four-point system, which is mounted on the belt or carrying device. The H-Harness is particularly designed for carrying heavy belt equipment. In the case of a lighter belt setup, the SAVOTTA EX-Harness might be a more suitable choice.
The shoulder area features an H-shaped structure. The item is entirely made of webbing and contains no elastic elements.
The product is characterized by a low profile, which ensures portability under protective vests.
In the shoulder area, the H-Harness has a width of 50 mm and comes with a 20 mm wide adjustable chest strap.
In the neck area, there is a 50 mm wide Velcro loop intended for attaching patches or markings.
The attachment straps have a width of 25 mm and are sized sufficiently for most users. The length can be adjusted for the user via the tri-glide sliders.
The open tri-glide construction allows for the item's attachment directly around the belt or to various buckles, D-rings, or elastic loops – depending on the need.
The motto of both systems is: "Keep it simple, stupid." SAVOTTA aims to find the best and most practical solution that is easy to understand and use. This is reflected in the majority of the products presented here. The EX- and H-Harness can be easily and quickly integrated anywhere. The material is extremely robust, durable, and lightweight. Additionally, they are very flat and can be worn under plate carriers, vests, and backpacks. As with any system, it takes some time to perfectly adjust everything to the user. The straps are long and can be adjusted accordingly. The excess strap can be rolled up and secured with tape. Do not cut! When wearing thicker clothing, you will be grateful for every centimeter.
The VALJAS EX-Harness is available for 29 EUR and the VALJAS H-Harness is available for 35 EUR. Both products are available in the colors green, brown, M05 Woodland, and Multicam directly from SAVOTTA or from retailers that carry the brand.
