The new release from Ronin Hiko: the Fugu

08/11/2020By Redaktion

Doesn't look like a poisonous fish at all: The Fugu is the first fixed Stahlwerk production knife. The design is by Stahlwerk Messer, manufactured by Reate Knives. As usual, the first production run consists of only 100 pieces.

And here are the stats:

Total length: 171 mm

Blade length: 71 mm

Blade thickness: 5 mm

Total thickness: 12mm

Total weight: 138 gr. (including Kydex sheath)

Blade steel: RWL34 Damasteel Sweden / 61 HRC

Blade finish: Stonewashed / PVD Black

Handle scales: Linen Micarta Olive/Black

Handle screws: Titanium/Stonewash

The special feature of the design lies in the dimensions. The size could be placed between a "small" fixed blade and a "neck knife" (worn around the neck). The high hollow grind saves a lot of weight from the 5 mm material thickness (partially skeletonized) and achieves enormous cutting performance.

The Kydex sheath included deliberately does not have any fastening options. The variations are endless and everyone has their own preferred way to carry their knife. Of course, the eyelet spacing is chosen so that all common attachments and clips can be easily fastened. Our verdict: Sharp knife! HERE you can go directly to the Stahlwerk Fugu.
